Burma Banks and Mergui Archipelago
Liveaboard scuba diving and sailing trips

This is one of the last untouched places left and has only been open for a few years. With more than 800 islands the Burma Banks and Mergui Archipelago lie approximately 180 km northwest of the Similan Islands. In the Archipelago, there are four different types of diving environments - shallow, inshore fringing island reefs, offshore fringing reefs and banks which rise up from depths of over 300 metres.

This, of course, means many different kinds of dive sites around the region. Manta rays, silver-tip and nurse sharks up to 3 metres long are in abundance, in quite possibly the clearest waters you can imagine. It boosts some of the best loveliest corals in the world and reef fishes are generally larger than those in the Similan Islands. Here the diving is more adventurous because of strong currents - this is a great place to do drift diving.

In December 2005 and January 2006 Worldwide Dive and Sail ventured into the waters of Burma. Our trips were a great success and together with our customers we enjoyed these explorations to these new locations.

We are still very happy to run trips to the Burma Banks and the Mergui Archipelago but only on a charter basis.
